Chloé started creche last Friday!
Adjustment took some time, but it seems that she will enjoy playing with all her new friends.
Girl, you’ve come a long way!
And it’s almost your 3rd birthday!!

Chloé’s operation went VERY well. After the initial scare of not getting enough oxygen, she recovered quickly and was released form hospital.
Although Chloé’s normally good with the nurses and don’t mind them much, this last operation was one to many. Every time a nurse came to her bed, she turned her head away.
Poor girl. We hope the worst is now over and you’ll improve by leaps and bounds!
We ♥ you!!

Chloé just went into theater for her hernia operation. Her whole tummy will be cut open from side to side again, the old cut removed and the hernia fixed.
We babysat her on Sunday. OMW!! This little girl has no quiet or still moment. She’s busy like a beaver. And she talks!! Even brabbling, it all makes sense to her, obviously. And she gets upset if you don’t give the correct answers to her brabbling question!
Hold on, Chloé! This will go past and you’ll be back at home quicker than you can blink!

Chloé will be admitted to hospital next week Tuesday for her hernia operation. According to the Dr’s it’s quite bad and needs to be fixed a.s.a.p.
Jenny will also be put under anesthesia on the same day to remove the connector to the port in her shoulder – the port they implanted for her feeding bag is infected and needs to be removed.
Hoping for a quick recovery!!

Chloé’s story was reported in the Afrikaans newspaper, Beeld, on Saturday by Alet Rademeyer:

It’s been 5 months since the operation, and mostly, all is good.
Jenny’s operation went good and although her muscles are not connected yet, she’s planning to go back to work in September 2013.
The family can move about more now, although they still have to be cautious about catching germs from others. When they go to the store, Chloé wears a mask to keep her protected.
She also gets to play outside (in the shade) more as our winter this year is fairly mild.
Chloé likes making funny faces . . .
Every girl needs a handbag . . . some bigger than others . . .
A big thank you to Aunt Fiona and Aunt Paula for their hard work with Chloé’s room:
Chloé really is a happy, playfull little girl. One can’t help but giggle with her when she’s in her funny mood. She laughs easily and her dimples are so cute!!!
On visiting the Drs. last Wednesday, they found that Chloé had a hernia that have to be repaired. We’re waiting for feedback from the Drs. as to when this will happen.
Luckily she knows nothing of the outstanding medical bills . . .
A big applause to Jurie, Chloé’s daddy, for the support and financial planning he’s done throughout this whole ordeal.

It’s been four months since Chloé received a piece of liver from her mother, Jenny, in South Africa’s 1st successful living donor liver transplant @ Donald Gordon MediClinic.
And all is good. Both Chloé and Jenny is doing extremely good.
Knackered after a day full of playing and causing mischief.

Chloé loves to climb into the toy bins . . .
She also quickly picked up on how to “run” the iPad . . . a real treat!
Passed out after a looong day . . . struggling to get this one into a routine is a real full time job!
Chloé and Kayla at the Dr’s rooms last Wednesday. Kayla’s liver transplant was done the week after Chloé’s.
Chloé’s mother Jenny was also admitted on the same day of the Dr’s visit to have her ileum connected again. The operation was done on Friday last week. Jenny is doing so well, it seems that she may be out by this weekend!!
Chloé’s doing exceptionally good. She’s off the Nestlé Nutren Junior and back to normal milk, which she does not like. So currently we’re in a transitional period where she either gets Nutren or milkshake powder in her bottles. But she’s busy and healthy and running around. She’s (we’re) SO blessed!

Due to the fact that Chloé’s not allowed in the sun (except when wearing factor 50+ sun screen and a hat), a side effect of the steroids she’s on, she still loves playing outside. Granny Elize facilitates some outside playing in the shade (with a hat on!) and Chloé just loves it!!
Chloé loves this swing. it’s been passed down through the generations, I used to swing on it as well as her dad, Jurie.
It’s so amazing to see this little cutie up and going. One would not say that she’s been through the trauma of a liver transplant!
